Day 11- And back on track.

I was looking over past posts and updating the project listed online when I noticed I did really completed a lot on my vacation. I think 3 project over 11 days, not bad. I also started a pair of pants, a rub-off (a way of copying the pattern without taking the garment apart) of my favourite pair, that is not even on the list yet. Also, as you may know from yesterday's post, that I have a Star Wars fan who wants more characters. Well I started a second, (chubbier) grey Ewok, he just need a hood and the face detailing done. Which I should be able to complete tonight. By my count that will make 12 completed projects. 13 when the jeans are complete. I should have 15 done by the end of this weekend to be up-to-date but even with that I would have to say I am back on track. In a big way. If I keep this up I should be up to my goal of 1 project a week in 2-3 weeks from now at most. That would make me extremely happy.
I haven't worked on my knitting in a while. I decided to just give it a rest while I was on vacation but I will be getting back into it this week. I have several long bus rides planned this week and if you know me, you know I don't want to waste precious time. I am over 60% done the latest owl mitten and home to have it done this week. Another work in progress towards my goal. Woo hoo!
In other news I have written 100 blog post now and I am just shy of 500 views over the last 3 months. Not too shabby.
(I wrote this before dinner and now after dinner I finished the grey ewok, here are some pictures.)

So the Ewoks have multiplied,

And because multiplied, they hatched a plan to take down an old nemesis.

Day 10 - The end of an Era

My vacation ends today, I feel so sad. I really wish it was longer but I guess it's just because my job isn't fulfilling, basically not rewarding emotionally. I wish I did something I loved instead of pushing paper. With my days being 18.5-19 hours this past week and a half has seemed extremely long. I hope the work day flies by and since I have Friday off, it should be a very short week.
I started a grey Ewok today. He is stouter and will be carrying a sling complete with rock instead of a spear. My Star Wars fan wanted a complete set of the Jedi cast. That will take some doing we will see. He was very specific, he wants sand people and tauntaun etc. It is going to be fun to see if I can create all these patterns. It might take a while. I may not be able to do it in the next 8 months. We will see.
P.S This is my 100th post!

Day 9 and the dangers of lack of sleep

I was reviewing my blog yesterday and discovered that I had posted sleep updates twice in one day, day 6 and 7 were actually posted on the same day. I had honestly forgotten that I had written a blog and published it so I wrote another one using the previous as my reference point and just moved forward. I didn't even notice the date stamp. Really how is that possible? I blame my lack of sleep. :P (Apparently I'm suppose to stop doing that and just tough it out like the doctor says but I will one more time 'kay?) I also named two blog posts the same as well as added an extra useless blog one day and day 8 and 9 were off due to the 6/7 error. So I have gone back and done some editing. I really hope I will not regret it. Basically I deleted the useless post, renamed the duplicate and set the days right. I hope.
And just to be nice here are more Wicket pictures.

Day 8 - Another Avocado Update

I realized I haven't put up pictures of my avocados in a while. The main reason for this is because the day after I posted pictures/repotted them, the cat, Ms. Bee bee I think, ate the little avocado and pulled it out of it's pot, breaking the poor guy's roots. I repotted it again and have been hoping for the best. I really thought it would die so I decided that I would try growing some more from pits since you need at least 2 adult plants to pollinate and grow fruit. And I really want to grow some fruit. So I have two that I set up in the window about a week ago and one already sprouted roots.

The other one just split yesterday and I can see a little root starting.

At about the same time, the petite avocado finally started to grow new little leaves. I am so happy. As you can see from the picture, the cat really did a number on the leaves. But I guess enough was left for it to rally.

The large avocado is still doing well. It has eight new leaves at the top and soon will be taller than me. (Okay, I'm short so it is a little less impressive, but still impressive.)

Day 7- Wicket on the loose!

This morning I realized that although I posted some great pictures of Wicket, I neglected to put them in the proper context so you can all appreciate just how amazingly cute he is. Mostly because he is only 3 inches tall and as most people know principle of cuteness reads : the cuteness of an animals is in direct proportion to the size of said animal. Meaning the smaller the Ewok, the cuter the Ewok. So I took a few picture Of Wicket throughout the day while he was doing his thing. Hope you enjoy them.
Here is Wicket picking what to wear.

Here he is enjoying his favourite soda, watrching T.V, eating an Easter snack (Laura Secord Egg, yum, yum!)

Playing WII, battling a ferocious stegosaurus, and getting some pepto because it was all too much in one day.
 Enjoy your weekend!

As Promised. More Pictures!

Here are the pictures of the projects I have completed, as promised. Mr. Puffsicle was a dear and offered to model Keith's scarf.

Here is a picture of the texture. I am not sure that if the picture does it justice.

Here are the stitched hearts. I am still not 100% happy with the results yet so I am going to keep trying. I think the domes at the top need to be bigger in general and maybe decrease a little slower. I stuffed them with scraps as I still haven't bought more stuffing yet.

And finally little Mr.Wicket! I think he is the cutest but doesn't quite look right. I think I need to use a lighter brown and use big safety eyes to get him to look more Ewokish. He kinds looks like a tiny teddy right now. But a fierce teddy bear, he's fuzzy damn it! Better watch out or he will mess you up mo-fo!

Oh the sleep front, I get 30 minutes more sleep this week. Woo hoo! Apparently every week that there is improvement. I may not even need 8 hours sleep. Who knows?

Day 6 Dear Lord Day 6

So I am exhausted today. I really hope the doctor lets me get more sleep. I have been so tired the last few days. I think if I could only nap or sleep in one day life would be better. I am exhausted but not it doesn't hurt. There have been days before when I get up and I want to cry, my eyes hurt and my body is super sore. But not in the last week so I guess is it more restful but I am still so very tired this morning. I have an appointment to go see my doctor today so I going to ask about sleeping more. Wish me luck guys.
As for the projects, well I am working on an Ewok but it is slow going. I have had to pull out stitches because I am not rested and it is harder to focus. I so hope I can get more sleep and maybe get to use my sewing machine this weekend. He is smaller than I anticipated. So cute he is not done yet but maybe today. We will see. Have a great Easter weekend or cheap chocolate bunny Tuesday!
