More sweaters

Here are a few more sweaters I like, I found these ones on the Lion Brand Yarn website. I have so much I want to do, so many I want to knit yet I don't have enough time. I wish I could just take several months off to create. Ah well, maybe in the future.

Calling for Snow!

So spring is put off again here in Ottawa. Calling for snow Friday. This time of year I am always either too hot or too cold. It makes me dream of a super fabric, thermoswear, keeps you hot or cold, whatever you need. But I am sure that is pretty much impossible, right? Well until That fabric can be invented I will have to settle for wool. Thus I am planning on some new breathable ones for next year, here are some patterns I like.

The pain of multiple projects

As I sit here writing this, my roommate Sandra is beside me struggling to finish a crocheted throw. She is doing a shell pattern and she is changing colour and hasn't crochet in months so struggle is the word for it.  She brought up the point that she should never go so long between working on a project. And she right in general. Every time I wait more than a few months it can take me so long to get back into the groove of the stitch or pattern. I waste so much time relearning or reworking pieces. So mush wasted time. Oh well.

Dare I go smaller?

If you have been reading my blog if you will know that I have knit two squirrels so far. The second smaller than the first. I used 8mm then 3.5mm I have 2mm and I thought to myself do I dare go smaller? Smaller means cuter right? So should I? Here is a little reminder of the squirrel.

Wise words

I love "Murder, She Wrote", I am currently watching the box set of Season Eight. I love how observant they make her and sage and wise.  During the series she shares many "purls of wisdom" as some would say. Here is my favourite,

"Find what moves you to passion and do it."

I find it so inspiring. I now just have to figure out how to do it and make a living.

Thank goodness for the internet!

As I mentioned before I want to make a Christmas quilt, but I have never made a real quilt before. So I went looking for a quilting bee online. I found over twenty. Yay! Now all I have to do is figure out the design. I have so many ideas. I want to make a Penguin one now too. I found some great fabrics on  http://www.beverlys.com/  website.

Starting your own home crafting business.

A friend of mine recently mentioned she would like to crochet for a living. She is fairly good at it, can make her own patterns  and right now some time to actually do it. I would love to craft for a living too, Lord knows. So where should she start? Any suggestions? Helpful websites? Cheap suppliers of yarn? She still needs a name and a focus but I expect great things from her. She recently made a Jake and Finn.
